Liberty Dollar Reborn!

According to the latest Liberty Dollar newsletter, NORFED (National Organization for the Repeal of the Federal Reserve, or something like that), the non-profit political activism group formerly responsible for the Liberty Dollar (and recently in trouble with the US Mint), has been disbanded, and the Liberty Dollar is now being marketed by a business entity to be known as "Liberty Services." The new Liberty Dollar promises to drop the political rhetoric (and good riddance, too - while I sometimes agreed with the general ideas they were getting at, their political rhetoric was almost always overblown and contained many misleading statements) and focus on marketing the Liberty Dollar from a financial perspective. They also plan to begin, on a limited trial basis, to exchange Liberty Dollars back into Federal Reserve Notes, though not at full face value, since the group must have some way of covering the overhead associated with issuing currency. (It should be pointed out that banks do this when you exchange between the currencies of different governments as well - either they give you an exchange rate not as good as the market rate, or they charge you a hefty fee.) All of this looks good to me. They are also trying (as they have always tried) to be as clear as possible about the legalities involved (barter is legal; presenting something as government-issued currency when it isn't is not). It all looks very hopeful to me.
